Monday the community turned out to wish retiring Lakewood Police Chief Mike Zaro well as he ends his nearly 30-year career in law enforcement later this month.
At the drop-in event residents, leaders and community supporters from Lakewood and beyond joined together to share a smile, handshake and hug with the outgoing chief.
Throughout his career Zaro remain committed and focused on serving the community where he was assigned. Lakewood was lucky to be that community for the duration of his tenure in law enforcement.
We’ll miss Zaro’s steady hand, his collaborative and self-less leadership style and his compassion for our city. He gave many hours of his professional and personal time to our city, residents and our youth and we are grateful he chose to stay with Lakewood throughout his career.
