Hoagie's Sub Deli

I'm embarrassed that I'm just now writing a review about this place -thought I did years ago! I found this sandwich shop when I bought my house in Lakewood over by American Lake about 6 years ago and was looking for a place with yummy sandwiches. Because when given the choice, I almost always will go for a delicious sandwich.

I can remember my first time in. Fortunately, it was slow so when I I mentioned it was my first time, the guy doing the cashiering that day walked me through the menu. He mentioned their most popular sandwich is the Cheesy British so I opted for that one. It was delicious! I have since expanded and had several other options and they're all delicious. My two favorites are probably the Cheesy British and the Italian. They apparently also offer sandwich platters for events -or at least they used to -and I was told they only request a 24-hour notice so they can be sure to order enough fresh bread for the day. That's right -their bread is delivered fresh every morning!

This is a family owned sandwich shop and they're all so kind. They seem to get a lot of business from local military, people who work in the area, and of course those who live nearby. You can always tell a place has good food and good service when they're a favorite with locals and military. If you go in, take a good look at the walls and you'll see what I mean.

They're closed on the weekends so this is a Monday - Friday kind of place. While I would often love to get a yummy sandwich on the weekends, I appreciate that they're not trying to overextend themselves and keep it simple. Again, this is a family owned business. I don't get over very often anymore since moving to the Frederickson area, but I think of them often and if I am in the area on a Friday, I will still stop in. Highly recommend for old school sandwich lovers who aren't looking for fancy, but just a good sandwich. Like how we used to get back in the day from Hoagie's Corner. Yeah, if you remember the old Hoagie's Corner we used to have back in the 80's/90's with fond memories, you'll like this place. This is your sign to go get a sandwich.

On our way home, we sought a spot for a quick bite. Upon entering, we were greeted with warm smiles in this charming place. It being our first visit, the owner kindly suggested some options, sharing his favorites. Opting for the German Hoagie, we deferred to his topping preferences.

Though initially planning to eat on the go, one bite of the German Hoagie convinced us otherwise. The amalgamation of flavors - meats, toppings, bread - demanded a moment to relish. We ended up savoring our meal in the parking lot, returning to express gratitude to the delightful couple (presumed owners). Undoubtedly, a place worth revisiting and recommending!

"An italian sub sandwich saved my life." Check that off of the things I never would have thought I'd say in my entire life. Ive been passing this place by for 16 years! My coworker would bring in subs and the rest of us and would split them up and eat them for lunch. I forgot to ask her where they were from so I went on a wild goose (sub) chase to find out. Ended up here! This is the place! Get the italian sub because its so delicious. Get their most popular sub the first on on the menu. Please take ALL of my money. But get there during the week. They are closed on the weekend. I'll be back!

Yes if you remember the cheesy British from hoagies corner stores their sandwich tastes just like you would remember. A lot of their sandwiches are named after their historical origins and so would say taste just like the originals.

Hoagies deli is just that a basic deli with table and chairs for eating. The deli is very clean and tidy. The sandwich was just ok this time. The first time we had the Italian sandwich was so tasty and all the free extra toppings give the sandwich the flavors I liked. I ordered over the phone and they were extremely busy, but they still had great customer service.

The sandwiches were super good. The service, not so much. We got an Italian and a Veggie with everything. Both were delicious.
Be advised that the prices have gone up considerably.

Best sandwiches around!! And the owner is so helpful and friendly. I will go there for all my subs from now on

Delicious!! This place has some of the best subs in the Tacoma Area & they're family owned!! The owners are super sweet & always working hard! They even give military discount too!
So many option & reasonably priced especially for the other options of sandwiches in the area. They also offer lunch deals & sell homemade fresh daily cookies that are to die for!! This is definitely the best place to get a good fresh deli sandwich with fresh bread & ingredients hands down!

Wanted a quick sandwich while passing through Tacoma and this place fit the bill with easy on/off access to I-5. It's a small locally owned sandwich shop and appears to be family owned/operated. The sandwich choices were very simple and made ordering easy. They were made fresh and to order and we were in and out in 5 minutes with lunch. Prices were on tract for the sizes ordered. Nothing fancy here, but tastier than Subway. 7.8/10
