Q:
How much is the Reuben? Is it good?
A:
I've never had the Rueben at Bruno's and don't know how much it is. Their German food is so spot on, I order it every time and just love the Stitzel.

I wanted to update my review mostly to say that this is one of the best restaurants in the Seattle/Tacoma area, period. Life changing fries. Everything I've had here has been over the top delicious, spectacular, and unlike what you can get anywhere else. It's shockingly affordable for these times.
Note for vegans/vegetarians - your options are limited, but you can do it. Fries, dumplings without gravy, sauerkraut, red cabbage, cucumber salad, pretzel, probably some other things.
Wishes: update and expand the vegan options and wine options! What's there is good & having a truly strong wine program would truly next level everything, as would being able to invite vegan friends and feel like they have just as much to choose from.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 12, 2024Previous reviewThe place is adorable. Dirndls and Liederhosen are alive in Lakewood. The lunch specials are the best deal around. The food is hearty and high quality and delicious! Do not miss the soups! Clearly a family run place run with pride.

Holy cow, this place is awesome!
This was on my list and we originally were going to come here the day we moved to Lakewood, but my In-Laws got too tired so we had to reschedule. Little did I know, the two of them have been secretly coming here without me and my husband! They live in Puyallup and make the drive to Lakewood for this! We finally got invited to join them hahah.
Cindy is their regular server, and goodness - she is just the best. I ordered the Meat Pierogi, and Cindy suggested I add the mushrooms & onion gravy to it. She was right! It was amazing! I can drink that gravy. I can put it on ANYTHING.
Husband didn't feel like fried food, so he got the un-breaded Zigeuner Schnitzel. The sauce was so good. He's definitely going to try their other Schnitzels next time too.
Like a miracle, as soon as I whispered "Are we getting dessert?" to my husband, Cindy came right over with a giant serving plates of desserts to pick from. We got the brownie and strudel. So so so good!
We're only 8 minutes away from here, so Bruno's will definitely have to be added to our monthly venues.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 22, 20251 check-in
We've been wanting to try this place forever and we were finally in the area today to try it, and it didn't disappoint! The inside was very cute and authentic looking and the waitresses were very nice and accommodating. It was hard to decide on what to eat everything sounded good. The portions were pretty big and everything tasted good.

Everything about Bruno's is authentic and wonderful. I wish I knew about this sooner, but now I am going to have to eat here often. It's a little expensive but not horrible. Service is fantastic and everyone makes you feel at home. Beware at the end they are going to bring around a tray with delicious deserts and despite practicing saying no, it's highly likely you will buy the Bavarian creme filled desert and then be too full to finish it and do the walk of shame..... Not that I would know or anything.

So my Polish & German heritage food cravings were screaming at me on Saturday and I started my search for Eastern Europe cuisine, you know Bavarian cuisine etc..
Came across this place and as soon as I opened up their website I was in tears as they had many of my grandmothers dishes listed, pirogies, stuffed cabbages, sauerkraut, red cabbage, schnitzel. It was perfect to satisfy my cravings.
So I headed out for dinner anticipating a great meal. We arrived got seated and Kellie came over and was great from the start. We chatted a bit and when I said I had both Polish and German heritage she said well get the Polish and German platters. Gives you a good sample of both and I would not be disappointed.
She was right, they were awesome (see pictures). I was only disappointed by the dessert but hey if that's all I was disappointed by, I call it a 100% win in my book.
The inside is nice with Bavarian decor.
I highly recommend Bruno's any time you crave good Polish and German food.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 5029916Dec 15, 2024
I've always wanted to try fresh pierogis and I finally had my chance! Absolutely delicious. We also tried the Rouladen, also amazing, the gravy on it was the best I've ever tasted.
Typically we don't order dessert but our server came by with the tray and they looked too good to pass up. We had the Beesting. It was incredible and I'd eat it every day if I could!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 21, 2024
There were things we liked and things we weren't crazy about that averaged out to a 3-star experience. When we arrived all of the booths by the window were full so we grabbed a regular table. Service was great and very friendly. Ambiance left a bit to be desired and felt it needs an update and a higher energy vibe. It was very utilitarian. As far as food, we ordered a side of the potato salad, which we felt was very basic, with no onion or bacon, and consistency was closer to lumpy mashed potatoes. We had the Jägerschnitzel and Rahm. The Jägerschnitzel comes unbreaded, which we hadn't paid attention to on the menu. Loved the sauce, but would have preferred the breaded, pan fried version. The Rahm was breaded and delicious, and sauce was good. The ideal combo would be the Rahm with the Jägerschnitzel sauce! The spaetzel was okay but was like tiny morsels versus the longer noodles. We plan to return and try some other items on the menu.

If you're in a hurry, this might not be the place for you.
We've been by a couple of times. The food is consistently delicious.
Kellie was our waitress the first time that we came in, and she took care of the entire place by herself. Today we had Cynthia. Both servers was super friendly and pleasant.
We recommend Bruno's for a good, *leisurely meal.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 1 - Dec 24, 2024
Impressively authentic food and very friendly service. I wasn't expecting to have a $70 bill for two adults and a small child but it was a good one time experience! We did order two appetizer-like dishes and two entrees. Cheaper than a trip to Europe! Very festive around the Oktoberfest time if you're looking for a lively indoor celebration!
